Personal Code of Technology Ethics
Today law enforcement can use different methods that have come about from technology. Professionals can use the technology to detect and solve criminal activities happening around them. These technologies allow law enforcement to be more proactive instead of reacting. Technology has introduced things like body cameras, GPS tagging systems, and thermal imaging technology, making it easier for professionals to easily detect criminal activities and locate them, enhancing public safety unlike before. Handheld devices are used in fingerprint collection, which provides immediate details of people at the crime scene.
Criminals these days have advanced. They commit a market-based crime in which they traffick goods and services. Cybercrime is where criminals use the internet to commit crimes like cyberstalking, theft scams, and online harassment. Another new way of committing a crime is an identity-related crime criminal taking advantage of that to launder money, terrorism, and human trafficking. With the use of biometrics- iris recognition, fingerprints, and facial recognition, among others, it has become easy to locate criminals.
Today law enforcement uses technology to find criminals. CCTV is placed everywhere; with the government monitoring citizens, it has become easy to notice crimes. Facial recognition can be obtained from the video footage. The authority locates them using global position systems and information from the government information to know the exact location for arrest. Prosecution depends highly on the crime committed and punishment like a life sentence, hanging, or years spent in jail.
Many ethical issues have resulted due to technology. The problems include job displacement, where technology has cut down the labor force. Many companies use computers and robots to run their businesses—ethical dilemmas resulting from confusion from various things to decide. Sharing private information online raises many thoughts. A Code of ethics helps give employees or members an idea of types of decisions and opinions acceptable in an organization. To code of ethics, I would identify the primary purpose of developing the code and make a list of traits. identification of characteristics and goal is to help know and prepare the perfect code for the institution or organization
