The partnership between Tim Inc. and TSG led to a realization of productivity through clients, which can be improved by establishing collaborative tools. Objectives have been put in place by TSG to allow the overall success of establishing tools to enable the client’s productivity. A project was put in place to enable the project managers to develop a better-informed decision, and various deliverables were needed to define and categorize the project. The deliverables put in place allowed the categorization and division of labor to different work package which are;

  • Project management
  • Market research
  • Vendor selection
  • Solution development
  • Training

Project management is done by the project manager, who takes responsibility for project planning, execution, and completion. The manager understands the project’s strategic relevance and standing and promoted the goals through a significant management change and the use of tools and techniques that communicate and deliver results. Management is then divided into products manager, business analyst, project sponsor, and the testing manager. The project sponsor is responsible for the project’s support but is not limited to providing money but also simplifies the advancement of the project.

Market research is also part of the objectives, which entails determining a new service or product’s viability by a study conducted through the customers.  Market research allows TSG to discover the target market and get opinions from different customers about their product interest.  The business analyst is required in market research, for they are responsible for business decision making, strategic adjustment, and business optimization. They give business perspectives and use data as raw material to conduct logical and structural processing of data. Analysts use data to gain insight into the markets and find solutions to the customer services and ways to increase production within the company.

Vendor selection is a necessary process that allows clearly stating, defining, and approving the vendors who meet the procurement processes’ requirements.  The business analyst use price, customer service, and quality of product or service to analyze and determine the vendors that have a reduced cost and have quality products.  Vendor selection is also based on the company’s requirement, which allows the successful implementation of the TSG project management software tool solution.  In vendor selection, at least four vendors have to be evaluated through tool research.

Solution development is necessary within the company, and it is carried out by various people, business analysts, product managers, and the project manager. The solution provided must be timely to the TSG manger and must be accurate to allow the project’s progress. Solution development allows customer relations and product services to be solved without significant issues and gives rise to employees’ brainstorming to solve the upcoming significant problems. Data gathered through questionaries and interviews is used to gain knowledge to develop issues upcoming from software development.

Training is provided to the managers, project sponsors, portfolio managers, project managers, and team members after the software tool is identified.  Training materials like the software materials have to be provided before training, and excellent trainers first train the admin before training programs. Advanced user training and mentoring of TSGs project management officer to use the selected tool to improve TSGs management practices. It is crucial for the conduction of training sessions for TSG critical stakeholders.

Major deliverables were then divided into sub-deliverables, which allowed creating a proper timeline to enable the security of services in due time.  The sub-deliverables entails

A project document requires ensuring transparency and avoiding various assumptions, which allows the confirmation and clarification of the defined requirement.  The document is gathered through questionaries, interviews, focus groups, and brainstorming and analyzes the existing data and information. Data gathering facilitates the managers and project member’s creativity to help create constructive growth within the project. Through data analysis, the project budget is calculated to improve the project’s efficiency rather than just giving a budget that is not specific to the project.  The budget help facilitate the cost, resources used and informs the time Limit to which the resources required

The project schedule communicates what tasks need to be done and which resources from TSG will be allocated to complete the tasks in a given time frame. The schedule is determined by the project manager who knows of the project size and complexity, and the project team’s skills define the schedule to be put in place. The availability of resources also influences the project schedule, for it gives the time limit to which a project will be done. A document of the project schedule is created that collects the work needed to deliver the project on time. The concept of initiation, planning, performance is required when developing a project schedule. The project team is also a part of the project, for it provides help in identifying procedures that lead to the successful implementation of the project. The team is created through a peer review done by each team member, which provides insight on each team member. The groups are assigned a team leader who organizes and coordinates the team’s work and ensures specific assignments are done when due.

The work package is under the level four sub-deliverable, which entails a group of related tasks within a project. The work package entails;

  • project plan
  • project charter
  • project scope statement
  • project requirement management plan

The work package makeup of the whole project for they create, discuss, revise, and submit the project plan, in this case, TSGs solution to establishing tools to allow client productivity.  The charter is a short document that describes the project entirely and clearly stating the objectives of TSG customer productivity solutions.  The alliance is then discussed, revised, and submitted through the project team where risk and issues are managed are implemented through project management tools.  A scope statement is a tool that describes the major deliverables of the project, which include project management, market research, vendor selection, solution development, and training. Through the requirement management plan, the project’s priorities are defined, documented, and analyzed and gave overview and responsibilities of the project. The work package is the basis of the project and takes some time and cost to develop its plan.
