Reflection on the Team project
The team dynamic allowed different ideas to be presented regarding the innovation idea we chose, touch free elevator. No challenges creating the implementation plan challenges getting everyone to respond on time and get their portion completed without explaining all the issues they have going on. Each team member gave their input towards the project. Every member did enough research towards ensuring the success of the project. Working as a team made the work easier as every member took care of a specific task, reducing the burden on individual members. Every person in the team did enough research on the project and collected enough information on the project. Although the team provided enough support, there was a delay in completing the work since we had to wait for all members to respond before progressing. If working alone, I would have started the project before, and that I would have completed it in the shortest time possible.
Our group focused on a project that seeks to introduce a contact-free elevator. Due to the current global pandemic facing countries worldwide, it is essential to introduce a contact free elevator. It is believed that 15,000 people use elevators in a day around the world. Elevators press buttons contain more bacteria and viruses than toilets; therefore, this project is effective in reducing the human risk of contracting diseases arising from bacteria and viruses. The team did extensive research before coming up with this idea, and the implementation plan was analyzed to ensure that the project is there is a contingency plan to ensure that the program succeeds. The strengths of this project include; quality methods of planning incorporated, good designs of the project to convince investors and consumers, and also a product design that aligns the ideas that will be resourceful to businesses throughout the world while at the same time supporting the safety of all consumers. On the other hand, the weaknesses include; a realistic timeframe and considered the budget/cost it would take to bring this innovation to life.
Working as a team is good, but everything depends on input from other team members, therefore slowing the work’s progress. If I were working independently, I would have started by researching the project, acquiring information from the internet books on the viability and implementation of the project; in this way, the time taken to complete the project will be less.
Working in a team contributes to the success of the project; this is because all team members work separately to acquire enough information about an idea. Having a team from diverse backgrounds is an added advantage since all members bring ideas from different backgrounds there, making the building blocks of the project more strong. The team also helps in the process of decision making; unlike when working as a single unit, all decisions belong to one person, but in a group, people are there to challenge if the decision is not good enough.
