Impact of Covid 19 on Education
The health of citizens across the world has been threatened significantly by the Covid 19 pandemic. Among other countries, Canada has had to develop appropriate measures that ensure progression in different sectors while withstanding the Covid 19 pandemic. For instance, the education sector has had to adopt new strategies to adjust to this new environment. This has been the case because physical learning had to be suspended in learning institutions to minimize the increased spread of this pandemic (Shalini et al., 2020). Therefore, this situation forced the education stakeholders to design mechanisms in which education would continue while protecting citizens’ lives. In my view, Covid 19 has been an important problem for the education sector.
Due to the covid 19 pandemic, online systems of education have been adopted. This has tremendously led to technological growth with the design of many software types in line with Canada’s education system. Online learning has offered many benefits to education due to its unique features. It has provided an interface where students can easily interact with their teachers even over long distances. Further, online education has enabled the teaching of large numbers of students at an interval, thus limiting the resources used (Shalini et al., 2020). Besides, relevant studies have argued that the online education system will improve students’ academic performance since it has enhanced student concentration in their studies. In Canada, the use of technology in education in medical education has provided a great platform for clinical students (Shalini et al., 2020). Telemedicine platforms have enabled direct supervision and assessment of student clinical performance. The Covid 19 pandemic has enhanced flexibility in the education sector, thus building its sustainability.
