I am married and have two children. I have a son who is eight years old and a daughter who two and a half years old.

  • Any Extracurricular activities & hobbies you are involved in

My extracurricular activities include football and volleyball. I enjoy watching and playing these two sports. In my sophomore and junior years, I was in a music honor society and a cabinet member for the honor society as a senior. I also participated in the thespian honor society student for my junior and senior years. This allowed me to gain community service hours for car washes, holiday events, murder mystery, and the likes.

  • Significant events in your life

I often thought my life and my mom’s life was going to end at 3-5 years old. It is not clear the situation was as bad as it seemed at the time, but it seemed life or death from that perspective. My parents would routinely scream at the top of their lungs. My mom would throw things, and my dad would slap her around.  My mom decided to leave for a while and left me behind. My father was very manipulative. My dad had developed a deep-seated hatred for me. My dad verbally abused me all the time and came up with perverse punishments. I became extremely dissociative. I had trouble perceiving people. At school, I did not talk to other kids. I started throwing crayons and biting teachers.

I am capable of keeping his ego in check. I am self-motivated. Typically, I do not need much direction from other people, and I can manage myself well. I am also highly internally inspired, and I use this motivation to direct my goals to the right paths. I am a risk-taker. I trust my instincts and use my intelligence in making decisions concerning challenging issues. I do not shy away from making hard decisions. I make my decisions with clear focuses on the goals, objectives, visions, and values of my life. I entertain new ideas. I understand the truth that successes are dependent on the entire team efforts. I make deliberate efforts in soliciting fresh ideas from the members of the team. Also, I use my insights to make decisions. I am also adaptable. I understand that it is vital to continuously adapt to transforming my life conditions to keep pushing forward. I seek creative ways to respond to dynamic living environments. I am willing to adjust to new situations. I am proactive in my approaches. I take risks and take an active role in improving my life. Toxic anxiety and stress levels shaped my behaviors and made me appear distracted, uncooperative, checked out, depressed, and angry.

  • And how all these things made you who you are

We should never give up on our dreams because quitters never win, and winners never quit. We should always be ready to go the extra mile to achieve our goals despite how impossible they may appear. The joy of our success is when we ultimately succeed in our dreams. Most of all, we should not give up on our precious visions because we will accomplish them one day. The joy shall make all of the agony so valuable when we eventually achieve the dreams. Imagine being capable of celebrating with our family members and friends. It is a great pleasure.

  • Previous disability-related experience

I experienced early life child maltreatment, such as neglect and abuse from step-father.  Toxic stress resulted from severe unpleasant experiences that I protracted over a long period from my dad. I was not able to successfully manage the stress of this type by myself.  The traumatic stress took place because I was exposed to traumatic situations. My parents could routinely scream at the top of their lungs. Violence, abuse, and neglect from my father made me acquire signs and symptoms associated with traumatic stress, such as aggression and increased hyperactivity.

  • How your culture views people with disabilities?

I have often heard that the disabled were probably shunned or put to death. The society into which I am born is flexible enough to integrate people with disabilities into daily life. Even though some cultures view disability as a curse, disability is not considered a negative thing but just a normal part of life within my culture. Illnesses that cause disabilities are often feared more in my culture.

  • What you hope to learn from this course

I hope to learn different psychosocial support and mental health interventions for the prevention of traumatic stress. Relevant psychosocial support and mental health interventions are required in countering panic and fostering social solidarity.  Mental-health interventions mitigate panic and strengthen emergency health responses. Physical health and psychosocial well-being are interrelated. Mental health interventions can encourage positive clinical results regarding wellness and physical recovery. Generally, integrative approaches to control and avoid stress may play a crucial role in the prevention and treatment of toxic stress. Toxic stress treatment needs timely interventions, and objectives are to minimize the stressors and respond to the stressors, strengthen resiliency, and reduce vulnerabilities. Treatments need to be purposed at each need.
