Technology
Technology has played a critical role in changing people’s lives and influencing significant sectors such as education, communication, business, health, and transport. Communication methods have evolved over the years, from simple audio calls and text messages to more efficient chat platforms and video calls. Businesses and institutions have had to invest in novel technological communication services to keep up with the changing trends. The latest technology allows teachers to communicate effectively with families in a school setting.
Using the Latest Technology to Communicate with Families
I can utilize the latest technology to communicate with families in print form using email. Technology allows one to convert print media before sending it to the intended audience via email.
Verbal
Radio or podcasts provide a powerful medium to speak directly to parents and students at a convenient time and place. I can seek broadcasting experts or collaborate with a radio station to start a school podcast or radio (Morris, 2019). The platform will give me a chance to communicate with parents and students verbally.
Conference
I can utilize Skype to communicate with students and parents in a school setting virtually. I will act as the host to the discussion and add the parents or students to engage in the meeting (“How to Increase Student Engagement with Technology,” 2018).
Social Media
A WhatsApp group provides the best platform for communicating effectively with families in a school setting via social media. I will raise an issue and request the parents of students to provide their feedback.
Conclusion
Technology has influenced the way teachers interact with the parents and students. As we advance, schools, teachers, parents, and students have to effectively utilize such technological applications.
