Discussion
Compliance, which is our subject topic, is known to be associated with some failures. In other words, the fact that an organization has a compliance program in place does not necessarily mean that it will prevent any form of misconduct that may arise. This is based on the fact that being compliant is an individual choice, and this has a direct effect on the organization. When a person in an organization chooses to comply or rather be compliant, this will positively affect its overall wellbeing as there will be fewer litigations, in case of any. On the other hand, when a person chooses not to be compliant, this will negatively affect the organization.
There are some reasons cited as the cause of the lack of compliance or rather the failure of organizational members to comply. One of these reasons is the inefficiency in the management. In this case, the management of the organization may not be tough enough to order or rather command its organizational members to comply. Apart from that, there may be a lack of compliance culture in the organization (Root, 2019). People in the organization tend to follow the culture of the organization. Given this case, a lack of a compliance culture may be the ingredient of a lack of compliance in such an entity.
To ensure that there is compliance, the organization should involve the employees in coming up with a compliance program. This will help in ensuring that there is no resistance by the employees in regard to compliance. Apart from that, the organization should also have in place a culture of compliance. This will push organizational members to levels that will help them become compliant as they will act as per the predetermined organizational culture. Last but not least, a detailed compliance procedure should be put in place within the organization and should be emulated by all the organizational members.
