The digital economy and society’s main aim is to set a pace for Europe as the world leader in the digital economy. It is thus meant to offer online trading opportunities for individuals within the member states. The modality in this case thus entails a transition from the 28 global markets to a more efficient local market. Businesses and individuals are then subjected to security measures whose viability is restricted to Europe only.
Why surprising or important
Digital economy and society are surprising due to the prompt rise to technological changes. Furthermore, internet restriction is surprising since it implies that people from other parts of the world will be deprived of access to the European market. The essence of public health on the other hand is based on the need for protection from any threat whose impact would affect all other sectors. Its importance is essentially evident during the COVID-19 era.
The relational difference with the USA
The United States just like the EU has implemented healthcare policies aimed at safeguarding the interests of the citizens. They as a result have the Medicaid that targets the low-income persons to cater to their medical cost. Medicare on the other hand targets the vulnerable including the elderly and the disabled. Unlike the USA the European Union strategy is rather less directly financially oriented. The digital economic policy of the United States varies from that of the EU in that it is not restricted. In fact, it promotes free international internet access. Besides, it is established under the department of commerce to assist consumers and businesses to realize full potential.
