President Barack Obama
President Barack Obama spoke to the 2016 Howard University graduate class and urged participants to serve as the ‘seminars of reform’ for American social and political justice.
At the opening ceremony of Howard University, Obama invited more than 2,300 students and over 25,000 family members. President Obama is the sixth U.S. President to speak at the start of Howard University.
Obama said that there was not a Black CEO of Fortune 500 firms only a limited number of Black judges when he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1983. He said the strides that America has made in racial relations since then are important to remember.
