Decision-making process
Dr.Hartman, I’d like to add a point to the idea of right and the best decision. Right and wrong can be subjective and are dependent on a person’s values. People believe in different values, and this may be the cause for different decisions if similar cases were handled by different people. For instance, in the case of Ashley and her soldier, another person may believe in forgiveness more that openness. That person may have opted for not letting the story come out, warn the soldier that if she gets into trouble a second time, she will have to report her, but being the first time; she will not go to her superiors. This may seem to be the best situation for such a person with different values. I believe that the difference in values may affect the decision-making process as the difference is what determines right, which may not always be the same for everyone.
