Incorporating information technology in businesses
The key idea of incorporating information technology in businesses is to enhance their operations. If I were to start this project again, I would look at the various uses of information technology in business and how they impact personal meetings. This will provide a deep analysis of how personal meetings are related to the various information technologies incorporated. In the business world, cloud computing is one of the common uses of information technology. It has an impact of enhancing communication and hence makes business operations efficient. Examining its impact on personal meetings would have been important.
The other common use of information technology is to enable employees to carry out their tasks remotely. Employees are able to execute their tasks even when they are not physically at the business premises. It also enhances the speed and efficiency of how tasks are executed. Mobile technology is the other aspect that I would have examined. As information technology use continues to rise, the application of mobile technology is on the rise too. With mobile technology, workplace communication is made faster. Good communication leads to fast accomplishment of tasks. Assessment of these would have given deeper details on how the use of information technology impacts personal meetings.
Throughout this project, I have learned that the impact of information technology on the need for personal meetings can have three outcomes- a decrease, an increase, or no change in the need for personal meetings. A decrease happens in the case where the technology implemented substitute interactions that required personal meetings. An increase occurs in a case where the technology implemented is difficult to use, so employees have to be trained. An outcome of no change occurs in a situation where the technology implemented has no impact on interactions and workplace communication.
