Time Management
Different people all over the world have a different view of the aspect of time and planning. Whereas some countries adhere to exactness in time, some other countries have formed a culture of either showing up for different appointments before time or awkwardly later after the exact time of commitment. It is interesting how people have defined adherence to time culturally. In Switzerland, for instance, if you are late for a train even for thirty seconds, then you will have to look for alternative means of travel. In French restaurants, different times have a specific meaning. The lunch hour is strictly respected. Antagonistically, some countries put less concern in the minutes or hours of a day. People’s different concept of time guides them in the day to day management of time and influences the outcome of their businesses. It is important to note that in business, time is imperative. A good manager of time eventually, is likely to transact business smoothly. However, adherence to certain aspects of time is controlled by the norm of different people all over the world.
From an early age, my parents have mentored me to plan my time and adhere to my schedules. Sometimes it’s not easy to maintain the record, especially when I have to deal with other people. Anytime I am attending a meeting, I ensure that I arrive at the venue at least five minutes before. Most of the times, this has turned out to be frustrating. People have been cultured to present themselves minutes after a meeting mostly. Amusing enough, I have realized that people would rather spend more time on an occasion than be early. In summation, it is essential to realize that to achieve exceptionally; time management is key (Ekaterine, 2017). It helps people to complete their tasks in time, to be more productive and reduces stress at workplaces.
