An Article Reflection
According to the child psychopath article by Jennifer Kahn’s, Ann, together with Miguel, his husband, appears faced with psychological challenges. Their eldest son, Michael, seems to display a highly technical challenging mentality at eight years. From the article, I like the idea of Michael screaming after being sked by his parents to put on his shoes and collect his toy. Similarly, Jenifer states that the behaviors of Michael lasted for several years in which he cut off his uniforms or pull out his hair mythologically to avoid going to school (Kahn, 2012). This statement appears attractive as Michael displayed a mental development of altering learning, making him a psychopath. However, I wouldn’t say I like the therapist’s suggestions over the health behaviors of Michaels as he got diagnosed with the firstborn syndrome. The diagnosis to Michael by the therapist opened up his eyes in which he resented his younger siblings.
Additionally, I tend to disagree with the aspect of Michael doing things by use of books as stated by Anne to tend to expose him to more knowledge becoming psychologically stable hence challenging his parents. I agree with the article’s title of calling a nine-year-old a psychopath, as presented by Michael, who challenges her parents from the age of four. The six-year-old Michael confuses all the eight therapists they visited in which they were unable to diagnose him with a specific mental problem (Kahn, 2012).
Moreover, I agree that there is no specific test for psychopathy among children, but it can get identified as young as the age of five. From the article, I have learned that kids calculated behavior differentiates between the cold-blooded psychological conduct disorders and hot-blooded, which have a threat detection hyperactive system (Kahn, 2012). Psychopathy imparts ideas in individuals disregarding the age; hence a nine-year-old can be called a psychopath.
