Cooperative Role of Hedayah and Global Counterrorism Forum in combatting violent extremism
Introduction
Violence in nations across the world has been increasing at an alarming rate. Terrorist and extremist groups are intentionally targeting innocent population so that they can spread fear in the minds of the government and the citizens of the nation. Political violence is usually prevalent, and attacking and terrorising groups of people has become common. Moreover, violent groups make efforts to change the belief system of the population so that the groups can change the ideologies of people. Therefore, in order to combat these harmful practices, governments tend to establish organisations that can ensure the security of the citizens.
Violent extremism in the UAE
Violent extremism is a practice where a group of people work towards achieving their religious and political goals by following a particular ideology. They are committed towards their ideology, and they focus on creating an environment where they have the power to manipulate the belief system of people. They usually use hate speech and propaganda to manipulate a group of people. In UAE, this extreme practice is prevalent, and the religious belief system is so strong that the group of extremists can influence common citizens by changing their belief system. Extremism results in radicalisation, and it is severely harmful to the nation.
Cooperative role of Hedayah and Global Counterrorism Forum
The Global Counterterrorism Forum or GCTF consists of 29 nations along with the EU. It has been established to improve the conditions of vulnerable people around the globe. Mainly terrorist acts are prevented. In 2012, the Hedayah Centre was established in partnership with the Global Counterterrorism Forum. The purpose of the Hedayah centre is to provide training, research and cooperation activities so that it can combat violent extremism. Similarly, the Global Counterrorism Forum has been established by the UAE government so that it can combat extremism with the help of the UK. The partnership has proved beneficial for the nation. Hedayah works tirelessly so that it can prevent extremism from the nation. Community participation is encouraged, and new initiatives are taken so that it can counter radicalism. Moreover, educational opportunities are created so that at-risk population can be saved.

UAE government is making efforts to promote compassion and tolerance with the help Islam so that it can prevent radicalisation. The international organisation, Hedayah, uses its expertise so that it can pormote brotherhood and tolerance among the at-risk population of UAE. Extensive research as well as analysis is done so that the communication process can be improved. Not only in UAE, Hedayah also promotes stability and security across the globe. The international good practices are considered and with the collaboration of Global Counterterrorism Forum, Hedayah has created National Action Plans. An inclusive and holistic approch is taken so that improvements in civil society can be ensured.
Conclusion
Violence in any form is detrimental for the society and government organisations around the world are making efforts to counter all forms of violence so that it can ensure security of innocent citizens. A significant role is played by Hedayah and GCTF in combatting the growth of extermists.
